White Christmas?

A White Christmas came early to Portland, OR today. Around 1:30pm we got some sleet mixed with snow, which eventually turned to just snow. I'm sure if you live where it snows all winter, you're probably thinking "big deal". But, it's the first time in 23 months that we've had snow in Portland. So, here, it is a big deal.

The snow is nice, but they're predicting freezing rain over night. Freezing rain is no fun at all. Yuck.

So, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, etc. I'll be spending time working on the interior columns, at least while the electricity holds out.

I think the snow is very fun. Hopefully it will work its way towards Seattle by Christmas!

Your home is beautiful. We had a perfect example of a craftsman in my neighborhood. The owners took wonderful care of that house. The millwork was in perfect condition. Well, much to my horor the new owners completely remodeled it to look like an ultra modern home, and (gasp) they painted over mahogany woodwork. They didn't realize what they had.

Trissa, I've got a sister and brother-in-law in Seattle (Ballard) driving down Chirstmas day, so I hope it's not too much snow. :-)

Wow, painting over mahogany must be a new low in bad karma. I wonder if there is a way to put a "do not paint the woodwork" clause into the deed?
